Big news in Stockport – the return of Stock Party has officially been announced!

Taking place on the 7th June 2025, Stock Party is a collaborative effort between many titans of the local business scene. Totally Stockport, famed restaurant Where The Light Gets In, SK1 Records – and the Underbanks themselves are all involved. Along with loads of local breweries too: Track, Robinsons, Cloudwater and more.

Last year the event took place on 20th July – my birthday weekend! – and it had a cracking turnout. The whole Stockport Underbanks area links up, with tables along the whole length of the area.

There’s food stalls, shops are open, and the highlight for me: loads of ace DJs playing absolute bangers.

Stopfordians were out in force. I arrived about an hour into the event and it was in full swing. People were lining every street and sitting on every available surface!

The Stockport Underbank area has been revitalised and revamped over the last decade or so. A number of excellent independent businesses now call it home. Chambers Skateshop, The Hidden Gem, Ghost Stock Clothing, Rare Books & Mags to name but a few.

There’s also bars galore and plenty of places to get food.

The unique design of the area also lends itself to the street party vibe – it’s (mostly) pedestrianised and one street leads to the next uninhibited.

It is great news for the town – and partygoers – that Stock Party is returning in 2025. The locals are rightfully proud of the town and show up in force. And they certainly make the most of an opportunity to have a good time!

Stockport isn’t Manchester – and it doesn’t want to be, nor pretend to be. It’s a proud town – and events like Stock Party are a great chance to show how it does things, Stockport style.
