New Mills FC vs. Cheadle Heath Nomads, 09.09.2025
Despite being a Marple photographer and living 5 minutes away, this was my first visit to Church Lane to see New Mills FC. Mainly because the last few seasons their games have managed almost perfectly to clash with County home matches! This season seems a little more forgiving schedule-wise so hopefully this will be the first visit of many.

I was impressed with Church Lane – having been to some non-league grounds which are essentially a field, you can tell that New Mills FC is a serious outfit. There were 100 fans on the night – amazing in my opinion for a cold Tuesday evening – and the team was a very decent quality. They made it count after just 5 minutes with captain Darius Photiou sending the ball home after a corner. After that it was all New Mills – chance after chance…

…so of course with a few minutes to go, Cheadle Heath bagged an equaliser, as is the wont of football.
It ended 1-1 – a wasted opportunity for the home side, dominating but New Mills FC vs. Cheadle Heath Nomads saw the points shared.
