One of the best things about living in Marple, Stockport, is that I get to do loads of photography for local businesses. As evidenced in the Meet Marple Project last year, we have loads of independent businesses which offer their unique goods and services.
This week I was fortunate to work with two more: Train With Adby, a Personal Training gym in Chadkirk, and the award winning nursery/childminders, The Playroom.
Both businesses had different needs for the photos. Train With Adby wanted lots of photos, including of their members taking part in classes, and updated photos of their recently revamped gym space. Lucy from The Playroom needed some updated headshots – due to their recent success in industry awards, she needed something more professional than an iPhone selfie.

The gym wanted to showcase two aspects of their business: that it is for all ages, including 50+, and that it’s a hands-on PT gym with plenty of attention from the trainers themselves. There was no posing of any shots – simply being in the right place at the right time to capture the Personal Trainers interacting with their clients throughout the sessions.
For Lucy at The Playroom, the brief was different: headshots but with a limited time to shoot them. Using only natural light, we identified a few different backgrounds in the business premises and took a variety of shots, so Lucy has a few to choose from afterwards.

Doing photography for local businesses is one of the best parts of my job, and being a Marple photographer means I’m not short of fantastic clients to work with!
