Liverpool Women vs. Everton Women in the Adobe Women’s FA Cup, 22.02.2026
A last-minute photo accreditation came through on Saturday night, meaning I could shoot Sunday’s big match. And it really was a big one: Liverpool Women vs. Everton Women in the Adobe Women’s FA Cup.
It was my first visit to the Brewdog Stadium in St. Helens, home of Liverpool Women and the St Helens Rugby League team. Still a relatively new stadium, it’s a very welcoming place for photographers and press in general. Lovely staff, incredibly fast wifi, and loads of space behind the advertising boards to shoot from!
Add to that the classic red vs. blue colours against a pristine green pitch and it was a joy to photograph.

Plenty of fans in attendance for the derby. Whilst the men’s game is no longer the Friendly Derby, the women’s game still allows fans to sit together without risk of any daft aggro.
Although that didn’t mean the action on the pitch was lacking aggression.

Liverpool took the lead, and led 2-0 at half time.
After some substitutions, including the game-changing Toni Payne, Everton halved the deficit. However they just couldn’t get back on level terms.
Final score in Liverpool Women vs. Everton Women was 2-1 to the home team; Everton are out of the Cup.
