Manchester City and Arsenal Fan Portraits by photographer Adam Edwards 19.04.26

Some happy City fans – and this was before the match

Found myself at a loose end on Sunday – County were away all weekend which meant I hadn’t seen any football for a whole week. In lieu of live action, I realised that ti was Manchester City vs. Arsenal in the Premier League. A top of the table clash, a potential title-decider, and only half an hour away from my house. It was sunny as well, for once – no excuse not to head down to the Etihad to get some Manchester City and Arsenal Fan Portraits!

One of the advantages the Premier LEague teams have over their League One counterparts is the sheer number of fans in attendance. While City famously don’t sell out all their games, this one was definitely full up. Potentially in aprt due to the worrying amount of people with half and half scarves on…

But thankfully there were loads of regular match attendees too. The City fans in general were much more open to a chat – and every single one predicted (correctly) that they would be taking all 3 points from the afternoon. The combination of the weather and the quantity of people meant I was able to get a good few portraits in, including two of my favourite – unusually shot in portrait over landscape, too:

While only a few Arsenal fans stopped for a chat and a photo – understandably anxious pre-game – there were loads of people around with some smart Arsenal style, at least:
