New Mills FC vs. West Didsbury & Chorlton, 11.07.26

There might be quite a big football tournament on at the moment. But is there anything better than a non-league, pre-season friendly? I doubt it. So when, as a photographer in Marple, I saw that New Mills FC vs. West Didsbury & Chorlton was on at the weekend about 10 minutes away from my house, I was all in. I’ve shot at Church Lane before, and shot at West before, so it was nice to see the two teams in action before the gruelling 26/27 season kicks off.

There was a decent 100+ crowd in too, with plenty of Away supporters in attendance, with everyone treated to a 3-3 draw including a last-kick-of-the-match equaliser from New Mills. Very decent, especially considering it was about 30 degrees!

I already can’t wait for the new season, with plenty more non-league on the horizon at least.
