Meet Marple 018: Tumble Jacks

Part of the Meet Marple project.

Tumble Jacks: Meet Emily, the owner behind Marple’s revamped and always-popular soft play.

Emily from Tumble Jacks Marple

Name of business:

Tumble Jacks

Where did the name come from?

Before I took over, the business was well-known as Rough n Tumble so it’s a slight nod to that, as well as being named after my own son Jack.

What do you offer?

On the surface it’s a soft play centre – we do lots of kids parties, we do monthly SEN sessions and we do extra things throughout school holidays too.  But we also do food and amazing coffee, it’s a nice safe, clean space – we essentially sell peace for parents!

How many people are in your team?

There’s 15 of us!  Some are full time and part time, spread across the week.  I need to especially give a shoutout to my mum Barbara though, she’s here full time and I definitely couldn’t do it without her.

How long have you been open?

3 years this month!  It’s been hectic to say the least, lots of learning as we go.

Are you from Marple?

Yep – been here since I was 4.

What do you like about having your business in Marple/living in Marple?

I love the community!  As well as being right on the doorstep for he countryside, I love the people here – it’s a real small-business town, there’s not many chain stores, you can get everything you need here from independent places.

Is there anything exciting going on at the moment?

Loads of events coming up – Halloween is almost sold out and Christmas is on sale now too!
