Stockport County vs. Charlton Athletic: A lovely spring day, an early kick-off, managing to get in the ground actually before kick-off. What else could we want?
Well, some goals would have been nice.
Instead we were treated to a duelling contest in which the pistols had been replaced by blunt butter knives, for both sides. It wasn’t that County were poor up front – the ball just wouldn’t stick. A lot of easy passes went astray or out of touch. It was a frustrating early afternoon.
For Charlton, the issue was Brad Hills being absolutely magic for County at the back!

I’m not normally one to criticise refs – they’re human after all. But I did find it funny after looking through my photos afterwards and seeing the following. And yet not remembering County getting a single free kick…

Unlike the last match, sadly there were no late County winners this week.
In fact I can’t really remember any close chances or even shots on target.
I did however get a photo of a Charlton player where he doesn’t seem to have a head:

So I think that might be my highlight of the entirety of Stockport County vs. Charlton Athletic!
On to Bolton away…
