Where did the name come from?
It says what we do! It’s easy to overthink a name but we’ve definitely avoided that.
What do you sell?
Stationery of course! We do school and office stationery, but we also do greetings cards, gifts, bags, chocolates – and we can print things for people there and then in the shop. We provide high quality stationery, from the eccentric to the everyday, and we’ve won a few industry awards along the way too.
How many people are in your team?
Myself (Sarah) and 4 others across the week, and across our other store in Wilmslow.
How long have you been open?
Since 2005! We’ve just celebrated our 19th anniversary of the shop here in Marple which is crazy. It was very tough around the Covid era, as it was for everyone, but hopefully we’re back on the up now along with Marple’s other small businesses.
What do you like about having your business in Marple/living in Marple?
The community! It’s such a lovely place – it’s very supportive of local shops and businesses, which is crucial for a shop like ours. We have so many lovely things here like the cinema, the canals, a few parks. And it’s notable that as well as few chain stores, there are also not many empty premises at all.
Is there anything exciting going on at the moment?
Back to school of course! We’ve got everything you need for any age, any school year. We’ve got you covered. We’ve also got things in for Halloween now too, come take a look!
