Part of the Meet Marple project.
The Flower House: Meet Zoe, the owner behind Marple’s newest spot for all your fresh flower needs.

Name of business:
The Flower House
Where did the name come from?
Because I first started the business in my home, my own flower house! It started in my garage but it quickly grew.
What do you sell?
Flowers, of course – for any events at all, weddings, funerals, birthdays, or just as a nice treat for someone. We also sell plants, cards, and confetti too.
How many people are in your team?
Officially it’s just me – but my husband is my delivery driver/labourer/moral support when he’s around, my mum helps midweek and my niece works here on a Saturday! It’s a real team effort.
How long have you been open?
I started at home only 12 months ago, and moved into the shop 6 months ago – it’s all moved VERY fast! The shop became available to let before we were expecting/ready for, but taking the plunge and saying yes to it early was the best thing I ever did!
Are you from Marple?
I’m from Droylsden – we moved here, sort of by chance, 7 years ago – and now we can’t imagine living anywhere else.
What do you like about having your business in Marple/living in Marple?
It’s so great for the kids, they love it – and so do I! It’s so convenient, we have everything we need in our local shops and businesses. The local community is amazing too and has been so supportive of myself and The Flower House.
Is there anything exciting going on at the moment?
Lots of workshops – I’m running pumpkin workshops, flower arranging workshops and then we’ll have the Christmas wreath workshops after that too.
