The Hound Dog Grooming Spa
Where did the name come from?
It’s a straightforward name for what we do! I’m a huge Bowie fan so originally I wanted something along the lines of Diamond Dogs – but there was loads of them already so we went with this instead.
What do you sell?
Dog grooming of course – but also hand stripping, teeth cleaning, nail clipping. We sell dog treats, food, toys and shampoos too – and we offer Puppy University!
How many people are in your team?
Just myself (Maria) and another colleague at the moment.
How long have you been open?
I personally started my dog grooming journey in 2011! But we’ve been open here in Marple for 7 years now.
Are you from Marple?
I’m from Ashton originally, but moved here as quick as I could after opening the business here, I love it!
What do you like about having your business in Marple/living in Marple?
Marple has everything! We don’t even need to leave for things if needs be – I can walk into town, get everything, I see someone I know every time I go out. I love the independent businesses, it’s a nice place to live – I’m friends with my customers which wouldn’t happen everywhere.
Is there anything exciting going on at the moment?
Lots of new dog treats are on their way – and Santa Paws is coming back for Christmas!
