Part of the Meet Marple project.
Two Suns Coffee: Meet Louisa, the owner of Marple’s vibrant and cosiest coffeeshop.

Name of business:
Two Suns Coffee
Where did the name come from?
I knew I always wanted to have something astrological, maybe something with a reference to the moon or planets…and then before we opened we actually welcomed our second son into the world and the Two Suns name made perfect sense! I’ve had people ask if it’s a Pink Floyd or Star Wars reference but it’s more a tribute to my two boys.
What do you sell?
Coffee! But we also do lots of other things, such as toasties, homemade cakes and pastries (all the staples), nice treat drinks like smoothies and hot chocolate, our salad bowls are very popular too. The menu changes every season but we like to provide comfort food and snacks for everyone – adults, kids, even dogs!
How many people are in your team?
Myself (Louisa) and 6 others across the week, though this changes a bit during uni term times etc. We’re luckily a very close-knit team.
How long have you been open?
We took over the building in lockdown 1 and opened properly around lockdown 3. I think it was a novelty for the locals to have somewhere different to visit when visiting anywhere was still quite limited!
Are you from Marple?
Yep I’ve been here since I was ten. Had a brief detour to Hazel Grove before coming back here for good.
What do you like about having your business in Marple/living in Marple?
It’s home! I’m quite a homebody so I love the community and closeness that the town has. I know and see our regulars everywhere and love saying hello. It’s just a lovely town to be a part of.
Is there anything exciting going on at the moment?
We’ve got a Halloween craft event coming up for families – and of course it’s pumpkin spice season now too!
